Securing your warehouse

Warehouses can often be targeted by thieves, however, different to residential properties, the majority of warehouse thefts are conducted by organised crime outfits meaning the security in your warehouse needs to be superior to that of a residential property. In addition to this, as much as you may not want to accuse a workforce of theft, statistics say that a large number of thefts in warehouses come are committed by those that work within it; this obviously varies on number of employees, the use of agency staff within the business & the sort of stock that your warehouse carries. Here are some of our recommendations to keep your warehouse & stock monitored.

Monitored CCTV

CCTV & intruder alarms are an obvious first step in securing any warehouse, however, going a step further to a monitored service may be an option that you want to consider. With a monitored CCTV & Alarm system any motion on the cameras or detection on the intruder alarms will be monitored by a CCTV operative who will be able to assess the situation and contact the relevant authorities. The CCTV operatives monitor this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week which gives you the ability to keep your premises safe and monitored round the clock without having a manned security station on site.

Access Control

Keeping access to your buildings & warehouses is essential in preventing thefts, employing an access control system within your warehouse ensures that only the people who should be in the building are able to access it.  Having access control on main doors allows you to give out relevant access to employees, most companies that do this integrate the RFID with the lanyard ID’s so employees can be verified when on site.

Security Barriers

Depending on the size of your warehouse, security barriers are a great option to keep unknown vehicles out.  These act both as a visual deterrent for potential thieves at the entrance of the building but also a fantastic way to verify who is entering & exiting your building.  Unlike traditional gates, security barriers can be monitored from a control room where access to the gate is given, this mixed with an ANPR (Automatic number-plate recognition) system is a strong way to secure the entrance of any workplace.  All access control & security barrier systems can be configured to suit your needs, get in touch for a chat if you have any questions.
